There are two different kinds of muscatels.

In one hand there is a muscat which is elaborated like white wine but which has a high alcoholic content.
In the other hand there is the "white muscatel wine" which is elaborated like white wines but with the difference that its fermentation is stoped in order to keep part of the grapes' own sugar impeeding it to get all converted into alcohol.

This sugar convert the wine into a delicate sweet wine.

The "small grain muscatel´s" soil has to be poor and dry in order to get the maximum sugar.
Today, its main fief is Navarra, where are elaborated very known muscatels, full of fragrances, elegant, with honey notes, sweet and tasty with a great amplitud and a floral aftertaste.

The increasing demande for this wine has persuade the cellars to produce it.

It is usaly drunk with desserts at a low temprature (10ºC).
